A friend asked me to draw an intelligent, energetic, cunning-looking mouse boy without actually telling me anything else about the character. This was my first attempt, which was met with a kind of "meh" reaction. Not bad as a sketch; kind of blah as far as capturing the essence of Brother Matthias.
