An improved attempt at this (https://www.deviantart.com/stash/0dl5opgc2lf) drawing. That one sucked and my obsession with drawing fancy head tufts made Huckle look too much like a chicken. Also didn't like how I drew it more detailed rather than... what do you call it... abstract? Whatever the style of Richard Scarry's books and Pelle-No-Tail actually looks like.
ORIGINAL DRAWING'S DESCRIPTION/CONTEXT:
Thought it would be funny to draw a crossover comic where Peter No-Tail (aka Pelle Svanslös) meets Huckle Cat and Lowly Worm from Richard Scarry's Busytown books and the Busy World of Richard Scarry.
I heard about Peter-No-Tail in the first place because of Dom DeLuise being in the American dub (thanks to my love of his roles from Don Bluth films and Oliver & Company), but what really drew me into Peter-No-Tail was that it reminded me quite a bit of the artstyle of Richard Scarry's work as well as the Three Little Kittens episode of The Real Story Of [Blank], a Canadian animated series that puts weird "hip" spins on fairy tales and nursery rhymes (particularly Mother Goose ones) and also features rock stars as voices of the characters, that was also produced by CINAR/Cookie Jar (the studio behind most of the Busytown cartoons). We had two tapes of that series, the Three Little Kittens episode and the Humpty Dumpty episode, the latter of which starred Huey Lewis of all people! (Speaking of Oliver & Company...)
Pelle/Peter calling Lowly Worm a "Tail without a cat" is a reference to the scene where he meets Kalle the friendly snake in the 1981 film. (In the books from what I can tell, Kalle was stated to be a dangerous/venomous snake.)
This was colored with alcohol markers, but I did make digital adjustments to the image, specifically increasing the saturation and using the fill tool to whiten the uncolored space (both as an adjustment AND to decrease the file size so I could also upload it on FurAffinity as well. (Also as you can tell, I colored Huckle's sclerae yellow because... I dunno.)
DISCLAIMER: I don't own these characters. I believe Huckle and Lowly are owned by Richard Scarry's estate (whoever owns his characters now) and Peter/Pelle-No-Tail is owned by... again, I have no idea.
