Name: Howling Crusader
Type: Dreadnought
Height: 1,200 meters
Length: 5,000 meters
Width: 5,600 meters
Powerplant: Anti-Matter/Mystic Hybrid Generator two sub-generators
Description: Given Magnum's access to more refined technology and gaining a proper home base, the wolf decided to create a vessel that'll better serve his new needs. Given his depots of raw materials and some sway with the Mystic Alliance, the end result is the Howling Crusader. This massive vessel is almost twice as long as the Hunter of the Damned and it's wingspan is even longer from tip to tip, for a ship of it's size it moves extremely fast thanks in part to Elvo's control along with the power systems, stablizers and propulsion systems.
Design/Development: The Howling Crusader is a marval of engineering, the wings are in essense far larger versions of the binders found on the Albion which alone grants the massive machine a great amount of protection, in terms of armor the Howling Crusader is protected by a super-dense alloy infused with mystic metals, which both cuts down on weight while providing amazing protection, thus allowing the instalation of the ships anti-matter hybrid primary generator and two sub-generators with each being in the wings, with extremely powerful sensors, quantum transmitters and a revolutionary jump drive.
In addition to all of this, the dreadnought also sports attack craft which includes fighters, bumbers, boarding and even landing pods, effectively making the ship a jack of all trades with these function being carried out by drones and automata which are overall controlled by Elvo but are also guided by various virtual intellegences. Poolong these details together means that the dreadnought can handle invasions and heavy combat effectively on it's own.
Weaponry:
The armament of the Howling Crusader is very cutting edge and equally formiddable as it's defenses, like a bird of prey they craft sweeps in and delivers an astonishing amount of punishment in a short span of time.
2x Phased Partical Ray Cannons: A new anti-capital ship weapon, these are located near where the body meets the wings of the massive vessel, these weapons are meant to go after other dreadnough-sized vessels as well as space installations, when fired it looks like large lightning bolts flying through the void and are extremely accurate in their fire.
14x Buster Projectors: These weapons are essentally extremely large buster rifles, these single barrel weapons are meant to counter heavier vessels from heavy cruisers to battleships and can destroy a frigate or smaller ships in a single shot. 10 of these projectors are on top of the dreadnought with the other four being underneith and mounted on the wings.
450x Plasma Projectors: These single barrel weapons are the Howling Crusaders answer to standard capital ship engagments, these projectors can shred through most forms of armor and the focused heat greatly adds to the damage through energy transfer to the targets inner workings.
650x Rapid Fire Pule X-Ray lasers: These triple barrel weapons are used for point defense against rockets, missiles, small enemy craft or close range combat situations.
2x Large and 6x Medium Plasma Torpedo Banks: These deadly ordenance launchers are used for bombardment and anti-capital ship operations, the larger ones are carried with one in the nose and dead of stern while the medium sized ones are placed on the forward part of the wings at three each. These weapons have a slow rate of fire and travel at a slower speed but the impact of these weapons against targets is morale damaging as they can overload the targets with ease due to the sheer release of energy.
Complement and further design details:
The massive ship harbors massive bays and inner workings that produce drones and limited intellegence automata for boarding actions and planetary assaults with a bay that contains the Howl of Silver. Even while the ship is largely automated it does having living quarters for passengers with a great amount of food storage and water facilities which can allow the ship to partake in rescue missions, diplomatic transport and so much more as it can also carry a decent amount of raw materals for repairs, maintenance and updating designs while carrying a good amount of cargo. The ship also uses a state of the art cloaking system that'll hide the ships massive signature for a time but after about 72 hours of continuous operations the cloak must be droped and the heat vented into space.
Like it's smaller cousin the Howl of Silver, the Howling Crusader is a crusading vessel first and foremost, while not lacking in comfort the ship is geared towards combat, operating during long periods of isolation and sustained reliability.
Concerns from various sources:
Despite Magnum's service record, there are many concerns surrounding the Howling Crusader as a whole. Various Knight Orders and their allies fear that Magnum may have an alternative reason for such a machine and even more so how it was built in such a short span of time. When the Freeblade was questioned he did put forth an offical statement:
"The real fact is that despite the small amounts of progress we have made, collectively we have stagnated with various civilazations making the same breakthroughs over and over again. I have pushed the envelope with a couple years what takes many years, if not decades or even centuries to do with my power armors having been the best example of this progress. What we need to understand is that our enemies are just as various as they are dangerous and they are only getting stronger, we have broken the enemy down more times then even I care to count, it is clear that destroying the enemy simply isn't enough, we need to make them fear turning against us, we need to make it clear that we can bring the apocalypse down on their necks at a moments notice. Another issue is that now we have the Mystic race itself coming back into play and with the possibility of those who undergoe the Dark Change and what they may weild. We knights simply are not at the top of the food chain anymore, the same spot that we once shared alongside the neverborn or cosmic horrors we once shared the slot with. We must be prepared for any scenario, weather it is pirates or cults or beings that can end worlds or systems, we must answer the threat appropiatly and as such we must have the needed tools meet the enemy and deal with them."
Following this statement, the Mystic Alliance encouraged this advancement along with several kingdoms, Knight Orders and superpowers that have fought along side and know the mystic wolf taking his words to heart. While wide spread use is up in the air, the Alliance continues to work with Magnum in supplying their technology for his projects with Magnum often sending prototypes to multiple Orders and other powers for testing and working out the kinks and shortcomings.
Construction: The Howling Crusader's construction is very modular, with all the depots under his control, Magnum decided to construct the dreadnought with his resources as he launched an initiative to help him and Elvo in future operations known as the Legion Initiative, this leading to the creation of the Gypse Mass Production Type, the Howling Crusader and various attack craft.
The dreadnought was created in sub-assemblies at Magnum's depots before coming together for full assembly, the blueprints were created by Elvo for this very purpose due to the smaller factory sizes. Amazingly the mighty vessel was designed, fabricated and put together in only five months which stunned every power and deminstrated the pairs capabilities
