How now, Jao? He looks pretty determined!
What's the symbol on his jacket? Klay Industries? - I don't recall them providing uniforms for their workers (or much of anything else), although the stains suggest that they might be work clothes. IDE? - but he wasn't a member, at least not yet, just an ally.

I believe I mention this somewhere in the book series. They are called "sentients" as a matter of nomenclature error that unfortunately sticks in society after many decades (somewhat akin to "googling" when we mean "internet searching"). But, you're right! Sapience would be the more correct word for them.
