His name was Kain. Strangely enough, it was not given to him by his parents, but rather forged by life itself, an echo of the pain and despair that had haunted him since birth. In ancient languages, it meant "acquired" or "conquered," but for Kain, it became synonymous with "rejected" and "cursed."
Kain was a teenage lion whose youth was marred not by play and carefree exploration of the savannah, but by a constant struggle for survival. His family was not just "bad" - it was destroyed. His father, once a powerful leader, had fallen victim to poachers, leaving his mother alone with a litter of cubs. Exhausted by hunger and fear, his mother was unable to provide even the barest of care, and Kain, the weakest and most rebellious of them all, found himself on the fringes of society.
His behavior was a reflection of this cruel reality. He was wild, uncontrollable, with a perpetually wary gaze and a body ready to attack. Any approach was perceived as a threat, and any word was a challenge. He knew no affection, only rudeness and disdain. His character was forged in the crucible of need: he was stubborn, willful, and unyielding to authority. Any attempt to control him was met with fierce resistance, often escalating into physical altercations. He was a master of deception and cunning, having learned to survive at the expense of others when it was impossible to do so on his own.
Kain's appearance was as unattractive as his fate. He was thin, with protruding ribs that spoke of endless days of hunger. His fur, once thick and shiny, was now dull, matted, and in places worn down to the skin. His face was covered in old scars, the remnants of countless battles and a testament to his tumultuous and dangerous life. His eyes, deep and piercing, were filled not with childlike curiosity but with a cold rage and mistrust. They were the color of a stormy sky, reflecting all the pain and loneliness he felt. His mane, not yet fully formed, was sparse and uneven, as if it had been plucked out in childhood. He moved with the nervous grace of a predator, always ready to pounce, but his movements were not of strength, but rather of desperation.
Kain was a living embodiment of how harsh reality can cripple even the noblest creature. He was a vagabond whose soul was as wounded as his body, a lion whose fate was sealed before he could make his first roar.
