Been working on a dragon sculpt, done in Sculptris so far. Will be dropping it over to Zbrush to add claws, spikes, horns, teeth, and do some further tweaking to the sculpture. You'll also notice that this dragons wingless. Wings are a fricking nightmare to do in sculpting or any traditional 3d modeling app I've used XD

Rotopo is currently bugged in Zbrush4, to the point that it's unusable on more complex sculpts. Zbrush doesn't hide the vertices(and thus are clickable) on the back side of the mesh like it's supposed to and does in Zbrush3. Just something they haven't fixed yet. Hoping this new update that launches on the 20th will include a fix for that finally! So glad they're incorporating the adaptive mesh algorithm from Sculptris into Zbrush in this next update though!
true, it's why i use an other software for the retopo like topogun, silo (nevercenter), 3dcoat, 3ds max, maya or still blender. the best of them is either topogun or 3dcoat because one of them were so interesting to retopo :) my favorite was 3dcoat because of his innovative system :D
the advice is never keep only one softwasre, use as much as you can have as software, this way, you can make a better 3D model :)

ok, in this case, once you installed 3dcoat, it normally have 2 versions in your programs list : directx or cuda, if you're using a nvidia, choice cuda but if it got some bug, go to use directx, if it's still bugging, check the forum, it normally have the lastest version of 3dcoat.
What you can try is on the lowest resolution you have, mask our the area on the shoulder where you want to pull the polys out from then invert that mask so that everything else goes black except that one are you masked out and just pull it out from there, and like like wise for the wing membranes just mask it out again, invert it and pull.
It's really hard to explain. Modeling anything that's very thin but curved can cause problems if it's not done specifically right. My biggest problem here is me, I'm being lazy and don't want to use 3dsmax or maya or to do a base box model in first. Really, it's the quads crap that keeps me away from box modeling.
That'd be so awesome! CG artists are paid ridiculous salaries in the professional field though. Makes it very hard to even afford a team to make a good quality CG animation, let alone make any sort of extra to pay the firms bills or profit for expansion. I've looked into outsourcing it to china or korea as well, both CGI and traditional animation. Minimum cost for a 15 minute animation runs just over 10k. No way would you make your money back from trying to sell a 15 min animation like that. You'll make a couple grand back, but you'd be hard strapped to make the full cost back.
Why not to make a team full of enthusiasts who is interested in making quality dragon porn? :D And then, try to sell it and divide the money, hehe.
Btw, amazing and very cute model :3 Have you done it from a base(block)-mesh or sculpted it from a sphere? Sculptris is a great program :3

looking pretty good, i need to start working with zbrush again and improve my ability to model from scratch too, i use blender for my blocky (BSP styled) models for like concrete barricades and such but i prefer zbrush for when i need to model characters. i'm planning on modeling a few of my own characters back over on dA but just dont have the time.
