Amazing read, I always love the format of a log for these kinds of stories, you use the reporting language well, it really helps to sink into the plausibly of the logs.
"Bad influence" and "Obliviousness" are some of my favorite tropes, especially in the way you're indirectly narrating them; I only wish for a more in-depth view into the day-to-day antics... but what is already there is nice enough.
