Seriously when Marge doesn’t sound right anymore Dan castellenta can’t maintain the pitch for Homer (He’s 70 at this point) it’s well due time to pull the plug.

They'll cancel the series when the voice actors for Homer and Marge die, or they'll change their voices and we'll have Simpsons for over 100 years.

If memory serves, the contract gives Matt Groening royalties for syndicated episodes AFTER the show finishes production. If Fox doesn't let the show finish, they can syndicate on FX/FXX without baying Matt a dime in royalties.

The show is basically a zombie at this point. It's actually long outlived the old sitcoms it was originally made to parody, and is now a kind of cultural frankenstein now.

I heard that some of the newer episodes are actually pretty good but even so, +30 years is long enough

Unfortunately, the only ones who can cancel The Simpsons would be themselves.

You know, Maggie's cute little sign there is why I don't subscribe to the "a good show should never end crowd." I prefer a show reach its natural end while its still good instead of continuing long after the original creators are no longer involved or the well of ideas for it has dried.

I always believed that The Simpsons should've ended after the first movie(it sort of ended on a good note there in my book) except since the buyout, Disney made The Simpsons their marketing bitch(and good lord it shows). You might as well just cancel the simpsons at this point since the voice actorsare sounding like Mel Blanc in his later years(it shows).

I've actually been on a little Simpsons re-watch since I hadn't watched the show in such a long time and well, the early seasons, at least 1-8, still hold up very well but the newer seasons... Yeah, I can see why some fans think it's a zombie show at this point because they just aren't that great. I'm currently on season 25 and I want to tap out but I'm trying to keep at it LOL

Your broad Homer is a good spin on his design. Even in the episode King of the Hill (where they toned up his design) they still had him in his classic pot belly silhouette.
