Stratus sat on Aaron's shoulder, looking around. This view was a lot more special to him than it was to Aaron. For the big avali, the train platform was pretty mundane. But for Stratus, it was a rare experience to be out here. He rarely rode on trains, since it depended on him riding on a big person, at a time when they were heading somewhere by train... which, believe it or not, a lot of people don't do.
Stratus sat there on Aaron's shoulder, and watched the train roll into the station. He immediately recognized the familiar model, UTDC ICTS Mark I. Stratus loved trains, though it was hard to explain exactly why. Now, he actually got to see the train in person... and he was going to see the inside of it too! He wagged his microscopic tail in excitement.
Stratus looked around while Aaron boarded the train, from his vantage point on the shoulder. He looked around as they moved through the train door, into the train car. There were metal poles going every which way, and various grabbable handles at different sizes and locations, allowing passengers of many sizes to hold on. The seats had a similar situation, with some seats being designed for bigger people, and others for smaller people.
Stratus began to get giddy. Here he was, sitting on a big person's shoulder, riding a train through the city. It was fun to have rare occasions like this where he could actually ride one, instead of just watching them go by, or learning about them. "I love trains! Yay, I'm riding a train! WOOHOO!" he excitedly shouted at the top of his lungs, flailing his tiny arms around.
Aaron's lower right ear twitched. Did he just hear something? It sounded a bit like an ultra-quiet high-pitched voice, speaking some words he couldn't make out, ending in "woohoo". He listened, rotating his head and ears a bit, to try and pick up on the sound again. Hmm... no, he must be imagining it.
Stratus noticed the big ear twitch behind him. Oh, right, he should probably quiet down if he wanted to remain undetected. Generally he was tiny enough that he could be loud without being heard, but in this case, he was sitting centimeters away from Aaron's ear. Dang, these ears weren't just for show, it seems that avalis having good hearing was no joke.
