A brilliant blaze that kindles bloodshed in times of famine through desperate need, and conquest in times of plenty through gluttonous ambition. A radiance that demands all eyes turn skyward. A brilliance that brooks no equal.
Pride without rival. Dominion without question.
Ruthless. Overwhelming. Oppressive in her glory.
She is power, undeniable and unyielding.
Her light burns gold— not merely the hue of divinity, but nature’s own color of warning.

Ahh... finally, the first of a very big 'project' I'd been personally working on! So, over a year ago, I decided I wanted to get the ever-typical 'Sun' and 'Moon' duo designed as draconic deities. I've always wanted to get a design done by the absolutely amazing Darenrin, and so on their waiting list I went! And though it took a while, finally, it was my turn, and here is the result! Utterly worth the wait!
I love how she's turned out! Complex and certainly spiky, to symbolize the stereotypical 'blazes' of the sun you always see in drawings. I wanted to go for something regal, yet dangerous and divine-looking. I utterly LOVE the pose, too, since one of the symbolisms I mentioned for her was a lion. I imagine the cracks you see on her body + between her chest plates are actually just pure sunlight bursting through the seams of her scales, whilst her paws themselves are completely that; light.
When creating her concepts, I knew I wanted her to be the Goddess of the Sun, but I wanted to stray away from doing the typical benevolent caricatures of the Sun. While still holding domain over Life (since that typically, also, goes hand in hand with Sun Gods), she is also known even more as the Goddess of War. In general, this lady is... uh... Not nice LOL. It's hard to call her evil since deities don't operate as mortals do, buuut I would say she is 100% an autocrat. Why wouldn't she be? The sun is the center of all— everything revolves around the sun, no? Furthermore, I see her more so as someone who embodies life as in those who are strong surviving/evolving, and the weak dying out. Honestly, conceptualizing her was incredibly fun! I think she is probably pretty similar to the patron god of the Aztecs, actually...
Now, in case you're wondering, 'Oh Dest, what's the lore of this one?? Surely she must be important!' Yes... but no LOL. She will be one of the few legitimate, 'that is a deity', characters I'll have. As such, yes, definitely important... which means I will be likely pondering over her (+ her moon counterpart) for a looong while. There will definitely still be some pretty art to be obtained, but it likely won't have much lore attached to it other than 'pretty picture', aha... I feel ashamed lmao, but at the same time, I really don't want to make a super stereotypical God character.
I can say that she is probably also the strongest character I'll have (I really want to make a tier list someday via some cute chibi art...) and the largest! So, even bigger than Isel. Beeg Lady. Her moon counterpart is, also, currently in progress, and I'm excited to have her done within the coming months. <3
