Original Species: Abelititan
The Abelititan is one of the largest non-draconic land predators on the continent of Arcadia. Growing to an average length of 15 meters and a weight of 15 tons, this living mass of muscles and teeth hunts down any large, slow-moving prey that stands in its path. Lone individuals will typically target smaller Neobehemoths and ceratopsian dinosaurs as their preferred prey. On its own, even an Abelititan won't tackle something as large as a full-grown sauropod or Titanotaurus.
Males, upon reaching maturity, gain a purple and orange coloration, which serves them as a way to attract females (which have a duller, greenish-grey coloration). Abelititans form strong pair bonds that can last a lifetime. Both parents will raise their offspring together, teaching them how to hunt and survive in a highly competitive environment.
Pair-bonded Abelititans are formidable enough to take down prey that lone individuals would not dare to attack. One report states that a mated pair of these theropods was able to take down a previously wounded Crowned Neobehemoth (an animal that even true dragons hesitate to take down).
There are very few creatures that pose a realistic threat to an Abelititan. Wyverns, gryphons, Spotted Savanna Bears, and large Carnosaurs are worthy competition for them. In truth, the only creatures the Abelititans fear are Red Fire Dragons.
I wanted to remake this bastard for at least 3 years now, but somehow I could never get it quite right. Now, almost 5 years since I've posted the original design, it finally materialized in a satisfactory form.
