Had to think a bit, It is all really aesthetic, and how you want to tell the story...
thinking like an engineer, if they needed to boil water for whatever reason, I could see something like a tea light as the source of heat. heh, just to test the theory, i want to hold a thimble above a candle to see if one could possibly boil that amount of water effectively! =^^=
