Trasfondo
Guido Rodd no siempre fue un hombre roto.
Durante años llevó una vida relativamente normal: trabajo estable, familia, rutina. Pero todo comenzó a desmoronarse. Perdió su empleo, su matrimonio se quebró y poco a poco fue cayendo en una espiral de trabajos mediocres, frustración y alcohol.
Terminó vagando por la ciudad, sobreviviendo día a día sin un rumbo claro. Para muchos era simplemente otro fracasado más que había perdido el control de su vida.
Una noche, mientras caminaba sin destino por los callejones de la ciudad, algo extraño ocurrió. Fue guiado hacia un lugar oculto: un antiguo templo en ruinas donde lo esperaba una gema antigua.
Allí escuchó la voz de Onix.
La entidad le explicó la historia de los Guardianes Esmeralda, el poder que portaban y el destino inevitable que acompañaba a ese poder: un sacrificio final que tarde o temprano sería necesario.
Guido escuchó todo en silencio. Y aceptó. No porque creyera ser digno. Aceptó porque estaba convencido de que su vida ya no valía nada y que de este modo al menos haría algo con ella.
Desde entonces llevó una doble existencia. Para el mundo, Guido seguía siendo un hombre acabado, un individuo que parecía no poder mantenerse a flote. Pero en secreto patrullaba la ciudad como el Guardián Esmeralda Groen, enfrentando amenazas que nadie más conocía. Durante años cumplió su deber.
Hasta el día en que llegó Devilstar y la armada elediana. El príncipe alienígena apareció con intención de a conquistar el planeta Gaeia. Groen luchó con todo el poder que Onix podía otorgarle, pero comprendió que no sería suficiente para detener la invasión por medios convencionales.
Entonces hizo lo único que podía hacer. Usó el poder esmeralda hasta su límite final, desencadenando una explosión que destruyó la armada invasora y lo consumió a él en el proceso. Este era el sacrificio que Onix siempre había advertido.
Su esencia fue absorbida por la gema, convirtiéndose en parte del legado acumulado de los guardianes. Su energía, su experiencia y fragmentos de su memoria serían transferidos al siguiente portador.
Años después, ese portador sería un joven zorro llamado Samuel Drake.
Aunque Samuel aún no lo sabe del todo, una parte del espíritu de Guido Rodd sigue viva dentro de la luz esmeralda que ahora empuña.
No planeaba hacer una bio para este personaje, pero tomando en cuenta que es probable que vuelva a salir, ya sea en espíritu o como flash back decidí que era pertinente que tuviera su entrada

Background

Guido Rodd wasn't always a broken man.
For years he led a relatively normal life: a stable job, family, routine. But everything began to fall apart. He lost his job, his marriage broke down, and he slowly spiraled into a cycle of mediocre work, frustration, and alcohol.
He ended up wandering the city, surviving day to day without a clear direction. To many, he was simply another failure who had lost control of his life.

One night, while wandering aimlessly through the city's alleyways, something strange happened. He was guided to a hidden place: an ancient, ruined temple where an ancient gem awaited him.

There, he heard Onix's voice.

The entity explained the history of the Emerald Guardians, the power they wielded, and the inevitable destiny that accompanied that power: a final sacrifice that would be necessary sooner or later.
Guido listened in silence. And he accepted. Not because he believed himself worthy. He accepted because he was convinced that his life was worthless and that this way, at least he would do something with it.
From then on, he led a double life. To the world, Guido remained a broken man, an individual who seemed unable to stay afloat. But secretly, he patrolled the city as the Emerald Guardian Groen, facing threats that no one else knew about. For years, he fulfilled his duty.

Until the day Devilstar and the Eldian army arrived. The alien prince appeared with the intention of conquering the planet Gaeia. Groen fought with all the power Onix could grant him, but he understood it wouldn't be enough to stop the invasion by conventional means.

So he did the only thing he could do. He used the emerald power to its ultimate limit, unleashing an explosion that destroyed the invading armada and consumed him in the process. This was the sacrifice Onix had always warned against.
His essence was absorbed by the gem, becoming part of the accumulated legacy of the guardians. His energy, his experience, and fragments of his memory would be transferred to the next wielder.
Years later, that wielder would be a young fox named Samuel Drake.
Although Samuel doesn't fully know it yet, a part of Guido Rodd's spirit lives on within the emerald light he now wields.

I hadn't planned on writing a bio for this character, but considering he's likely to reappear, either as a spirit or in a flashback, I decided it was fitting that he have his own entry.
