Back at the E Tripple C! For the third time. Second time as a helper. You can see last year here;

Second picture set from this year in scraps as its just some of us Amtgarders posing next to the big ECCC sign.
While I was Grizzle last year to help the mundies learn about Amtgard and to hopefully let them all have fun! But this year I was the newboi Hakkar. Ready to kill-slay all the none Gritus scum-slaves! But really it was just the perfect time to try out the outfit before Furnal Equinox. Try to work out any issues the current stuff may have and try to fix it before FE. Which is this week, eek! But the net you can see wrapped around me, that only one person asked what it was I was kinda surprised, I think looked really swell and fits Hakkar so well :D
On the whole though besides the Monster Feet, which I was 80% sure would fail (They did) nothing major to try and fix. Besides trying to make Hakkar club. But thats not related to ECCC. The event is Thursday to Sunday but unlike last year I was not staying with a friend in their house. Instead I was staying at a hotel half mile from the convention center with Tristan. Who you can see in the top left next to me at the hotel and the bottom right picture in the corner with the red shield. Big thanks to him for letting me share his hotel room it made getting to and from the convention center way easier! We got to the hotel Wednesday night and stayed till Sunday morning - so did leave before the convention officially ended. Nihlus, top right squaring off against me, was the 2nd in command of the ECCC Amtgard section this year. Cool guy did a great job too :D
Even if I got a parking ticket arrrgh. Dang downtowns!
But due to being so much closer to the site I was there for much longer each day. Basically 10 AM to 10 PM. On my feet almost the entire time and doing orientation mostly. So showing people our rules of fighting and doing some basic practice with them. I dont know how accurate my walking app on my phone was but it says I did 17 miles Thursday, 21.8 miles Friday, and 15.8 miles Saturday. I was very exhausted for sure. But it was a nice time.
I also had to walk that half mile to the center on the Thursday and then back to the hotel on Saturday night with my cart of gear as it wouldn't fit in Tristans car. But Seattle is just like any other downtown really. And looking like I do does have benefits of most people ignore me. Even in my red outfit.
But as I said it was a great time! Unlike last year where I filtered around to all the jobs this year I basically mainly did Orientation the most. With occasionally referee jobs outside for the bigger battles and fighting in Amtgard versus the Con twice in my armor to hold the line. We also didn't have the ambulance called this year! And only had to kick one person out! Great success woo!
But the general spiel was 'dont hit people in the head, chest means you die, two limbs is dead also, hand on weapon doesnt count, if you lose a leg dont hop! Plant a foot or go onto your knees, heres why I stand like I do (use my free arm to cover my chest so I lose that not my chest), fight me/each other to practice. Heres some tips. When confident head outside for bigger battles!'
Everyone seemed to be having a very fun time at the event and while we did leave early the Northern Lights people, Vancouver Washington and up, did really like having myself and Tristan there. We left on the last day to make it back down to Oregon for a Kingdom Level Event and we happened to make that too! But goodness when that was done I got home and slept all knight. A super busy and tiring time but also very fun.
