Not bad! :) One remark though: shadows are never black but always of some complementary color. Here, if you look at the palm trees' shadow color, it should be blueish, not black. Also, if there is only one light source in the scene (here, the sun), shadows do not blend but are mixed each other with the same intensity, like if it was one unique big shadow. :)

You did this look very good with the background. Most cartoon/realistic photos look more copypasted but this actually plays along well with the background, especially with the shadow you added on the characters.
