Did you know that in my culture horses have different names depending on their age and gender?
Right now my sculpture is at the stage called "qulyn" — a foal up to six months old. At this moment the base of the figurine reminds me of a tiny foal that is still a little unsteady on its legs.
I really like this early stage of a sculpture. It feels fragile and full of potential, just like a young foal learning to stand for the first time.
Tomorrow I’ll share the next step of the process — and the next traditional name for this stage.
