Mrs Cheerilee gives her students a project for mother's day. They have to write about a time they've spent with their mothers and how it has impacted them. Sadly for Applebloom, she never knew her mother. Cheerilee explained that they can write about any positive role model in their life if they don't have a mother, but Applebloom can't help but think about the fact that she has one, even if she never got to knew her. She isn't sure how to process grieving someone she hasn't seen since she was a little filly, but it leads to a rough day at school.
