Barbra piper picked up her phone. “Yes?”
“I’m facing your back.” Blacktooth said thickly into the phone. He could see Barbra whirl around, only to be met with her personal library and one of the four window-less walls of her office.
“I’m not even going to comment.” Blacktooth said as he climbed past her office and up onto the roof, ending the phone call and breaking the phone in his paw.
“Security, we have a perimeter breach,” Barbra said, calling through the PA system that was linked to her office. “Search the area. Any unauthorized creatures around are allowed to be shot on sight. Repeat, shoot on sight.”
Blacktooth knew from where he was sitting that no one would find him. Everyone scurried out of the facility practically, giving him an almost walk-through entrance to where he needed to go. Acting quickly, ducking by only a couple humans, he made his way to the main ‘storage’ facility. Blacktooth knew this was where they kept the other furries.
For the number of animals in the room, it was relatively quiet when Blacktooth entered. Sedatives, he figured. Some of the animals looked up, and were more than surprised by what they saw. Still, they stayed quiet, which was good.
Blacktooth grabbed a nearby key and started opening cages left and right, the conscious ones first.
“Hey.” A young bunny said a few yards from him. “What are you?”
“I’m what you’ll be if you don’t stop talking.” Blacktooth said. Blacktooth normally wasn’t ever rude, but there were times that demanded his cooperation, and the bunny wasn’t willing from the get-go to give it.
The bunny thankfully sat there and watched as Blacktooth freed some of the animals, who looked completely dazed and confused by what was happening. Probably all of them were on a mild sedative, which would keep their minds a little off-track.
“What do we do?” A bear asked.
“You guys go out the back. Fight your way through. There’s a shelter I’ll take you to once you guys get away.” He couldn’t reveal the shelter’s whereabouts. He knew about the cameras in the room.
“What about you?” A peacock asked.
“I’ll keep them at bay.”
“I’ll help you.” The bear said.
“You won’t be able to.” Blacktooth said truthfully. “Help them.” Blacktooth continued, addressing the bear.

Blacktooth turned. Barbra stood there with two agents, gun poised to fire. “Let’s rewind all this and pretend it never happened.” Barbra offered.
Blacktooth looked around, then shook his head. “No.”
The agents took aim. “Get ready for it.” Blacktooth said, noting the peacock was continuing his job of opening other cells. He also made sure no one tried to shoot the peacock. The closest agent didn’t like the peacock too much and fired. But not before his hand left his body. “Now!” Blacktooth charged into the threesome, a horde of animals behind him almost plowing him further out into the hallway.
Barbra and the agents were toast as soon as they hit the ground, stomped beneath paws, claws, and hooves of all shapes, sizes, and weights. Blacktooth turned, and, whipping out his skeletal tail, picked Barbra up and hauled her along as they made for the exit, Blacktooth bringing up the rear.
Some agents knew by now what was up, and started firing from the outside. An angry bear roar greeted Blacktooth’s ears, followed by silence. The before-mentioned bear was awake enough to do what he’d hoped. Out into the sunlight the furries ran, flew, stumbled, and clambered away from the laboratory.
“Wait!” Barbra said, out of breathe.
Blacktooth glared at her as they broke into the tree-line. “Wait!” Barbra protested. Blacktooth grunted and threw her down.
“WHAT?”
Barbra got up slowly. “They’ll never believe I was a hostage. I’m dead if I go back there!”
“Yeah, great, let’s talk later.” Blacktooth said, encircling Barbra with his tail.
“No, wait, my work, it’s all there!” Barbra said, trying to loosen herself from Blacktooth’s grasp.
“Again, let’s go, talk about it later.”
The two ran for the trees, where some of the furries awaited. “Go out of town for awhile. You’ll find a rundown resort there. There’s at least seventy five furries there who can help you, get yourselves down there!”
“What about me?” Barbra said.
Despite how Blacktooth hated humans being inconsiderate and prejudice, he wasn’t a total pig. Turning to her, he pointed a finger at her. “Your coming with me.” With that, he wound up and struck Barbra on the back of the neck, knocking her out.
