There is a popular fan theory that Kitty and Catterick bullied Pawbert because they were trying to protect him by keeping him away from their father and the dark family history. Pawbert's eyes are different (mother's side?); Kitty and Catterick also show genuine fear and concern for Pawbert when their father Milton threatens and abused him (they are in too deep and want to spare Pawbert their fate, bullying him into unimportant family work). Unfortunately it backfired and Pawbert became worse (4 attempted murders).
