Breaking away from the usual format here. I've been mulling Entropy's wing pattern for a bit - it is such things as "busy", "inorganic", "peculiar". However, it did serve its purpose in conveying entropy, through the node-and-link pattern kind of representing a CNN, which uses (typically) cross-entropy as an optimization function!
So the thing is, I needed an equivalent idea to convey "entropy" in a different manner, while presenting a more "organic" pattern and, ideally, a) move away from neural networks, and b) also having a deeper meaning, lore-wise.
This does accomplish all of those goals. the six "strong" stacked lines are meant to be 6-class Shannon (information) entropy curves, from tip to back. 6 lines of uncertainty, for 6 lore stories intertwined. As the outcomes are less certain, there are lots of many smaller "waves", a lot of noise, a lot of uncertainty. Those are reduced to almost nothing by the back, representing following your given path to its conclusion.
Thank you to
for helping put this design forth. It will become the official one soon.

I think from a standpoint of focusing the design on the concepts of "entropy" itself, this is hitting a lot of things right. It's a form of randomness and disorder with the inner membraneous parts of the wings that almost seems natural in a way. The lines not exactly perpendicular to the arms they're attached to, the intense focus of red on the outer parts of the inner wing that fade into the familiar salmon and pink, the distinct "different"-ness of the design compared to the otherwise orderly design of the rest of Entropy. What's getting me the most is the intensity of the red slowly fading colors though. Something about it, I'm not sure what, just signifies that something is "alive". Not literally, but showcasing a sort of energy, like a reading or pulse, that's going through the wing. An outstretched hand creating "entropy" if you will.
I SUPER like this design in that lens, and it's really, really fascinating to see such a significant detail in character design within the wings like this. I've never seen anything like it before and it's really beautiful, both visually and figuratively~ <3
