Maroochy recently received an invitation to a rooftop party from somebody she knows through work, along with assurances that it's not going to be a big gathering or anything. Dean and Rose didn't want to go, but Maroochy had already accepted, so she ended up going solo.

She and the mutuals live outside of town, in a little cottage a bit of the way into the Forest proper and away from the hustle and bustle. She also grew up in a small community on the outskirts of a small tourist town in Tasmania. All this to say that Maroochy's idea of a "small party" is a little bit different from her friend's, so it ended up being a little bit larger of a group than she usually vibes with. But, you know, she was already there. Plus, they had beer, the music was all right, and it was a nice night. Might as well hang for a bit.

She gravitated to the side of the roof, away from the crowd, where it was easier to relax. Em's not really antisocial—she's pretty friendly, in fact—but she's most comfortable and open around small groups. The big gathering putting her slightly on edge, combined with her resting devil face, sent the signal to most people there that she wanted her space.

Let this be a lesson to us all! The shape of Tasmanian devil faces gives them slightly frowny expressions by default unless they're really emoting, but it doesn't mean that they're angry. Say hi to the next Tassie you see. Maybe you'll make a friend!
