Rediscovered these two gems recently showing the evolution in how I drew my fursona's mouth. The first one is more recent and was a concept drawing that I digitally shaded to give it more of a 3d look. The picture on the right shows the first serious attempt at drawing a maw shot of my fursona from October 2008.

I wished current stuff going on allowed me to art more often because then you'd see more consistent new content. ( I'm going to be updating my situation again soon but I thought I'd never find the older image, I'm glad I was able to put this together with the newer version of yeen maw on the left. )
Based on your current avatar I'm not surprised that you like Garurumon's mawshot above most of the others, there will be more in the series to come and maybe another Digimon will make the list of images to be done.
I like the 2011 version of my sona better because of the toon look to him plus the cell shading turned out quite good. The 2008 version has the nostalgia going for it but both of these versions are obsolete because my sona's look has changed since these were done.

My current avatar features one of my favorite characters. Of course, there's a character who is my favorite and It is not shown in my avatar.
Garurumon's Mawshot has an appealing perspective, the way you look at it makes you want to get in there and go deeper. Although you didn't show it like in the case of Houndoom eating a person. But looking Houndoom make you want to wait for your turn. It would be interesting to see a series with houndoom and more Pokemon.
Regarding your work, you noticed that in the 2011 work your character is missing nostrils?
