After a journey on Himmel, the world where Aeren lives, he got the blessings from Mars, Mercury and Jupiter, the three elemental dragons, which granted Aeren the power to control the water and wind. (He already had fire) The last one, Gaia, elemental of earth, couldn't give their blessing... as the planet died, only these islands remaining.
Instead, Gaia took Aeren, and refined his powers and trained him to be a good dragon, sharpening his sense of justice and his combat techniques.
"Bah! Even dragonkin can hit harder than this! Go on, don't stop until you can crack that pillar!" - Gaia barked at Aeren as she trained him.
After some years, he was ready for the truth. Aeren was the last dragon alive in his world, and he was the continuation of the royal bloodline, his red hair is proof of his royalty.
"So that's why those dragonkin tribe raised me and treated me good...?" - Aeren wonders as Gaia continues explaining.
She explains the cosmic entity that once threatened to consume all is still alive. It is sealed in the earth temple, where Gaia resides. And the seal is weakening.
The relics needed to maintain the seal's power are called Chronicles and each world has one of them. They record the world's memories and they can supposedly take any shape or form, from a normal book to a rock.
"How will I know something is a Chronicle then?" - Aeren asks, interrupting Gaia's explaining.
"...You will know, your royal blood will know. It will be like a gut feeling. A strong one." - Gaia answers as she closes her book. "Ready for your first expedition then? Once you step through the portal, I won't be able to help you and for the love of god, don't try to be a hero, you still lack experience... I will try to throw you to a world with dragons, friendly ones if I can help it."
"Other dragons? Like me? Like... actual dragons?" - Aeren asks excitedly. Dragons made of meat and bone? Not weird magical ones? - "Yes! I'm ready!"
"Well... It has been a millenia since I used this magic, but this should be correct." - Gaia flickers her fingers and shoots a portal in front of Aeren...
