served as a military chaplain during war; was taken away from the front after presenting with several mental disturbances following a particularly grisly offensive. currently resides as the chaplain at a base war hospital, where he functions as both patient and (when able) hospital chaplain.
fragments of a hospital note regarding his particular psychological profile (really just extremely rough drafting from my notes, may be inconsistent):
"...stumbled into artillery crater at night while attempting to rescue a wounded soldier...fell facefirst into rotting corpse's open stomach, had to grab onto corpse and essentially hug it, defiling by touch, to not sink deeper into mud hole. trauma has manifested at the hospital in a myriad of ways, including some delusions regarding the source of animal bones in his food (such as fish and chicken), with the erroneous belief that the bones are canine in nature and were mulched up in the same soil that the front consisted of. pulls his fur/hair a lot, usually in clumps, particularly when stressed. preoccupied with hygiene, and thinking he can still smell the rot he stuck his face in (the stomach cavity), and that it clings to him still, despite prolonged, sometimes violent scrubbing daily. patient is typically reclusive and cannot handle the sight or smell of certain foods. due to contamination fears, patient is allowed to live in personal quarters separate from those used communally).
