I'm sorry to all the other artists who have drawn Taka, because I LOVE all the drawings, your interpretations, and the time and love you've put into them. But I can't be impartial: this is my favorite drawing of them yet.
It started out as a quick warm-up sketch. Galactic Kitsune asked for fursonas to use as warm-up sketches before drawing, and they liked the sketch so much that she decided to finish it. It took several months—because life can be pretty unpredictable for all of us—but she finally finished it, and it’s absolutely wonderful.
I love the contrast between the punk look and how happy and pure he looks sitting on the railing watching the moth as night falls. The colors are wonderful. If I didn’t know it wouldn’t make it safely from America to Spain, I’d ask him to send me the original drawing to frame it—provided they didn’t want to keep it, of course.
