The Ascenris are of the 'centaur' concept of mixed creatures, and in this case more emphasis on panther sub-species (kinda like those NPCs in Uldum from WoW). Native evolution, so not a byproduct of magic/etc. Typical intelligence, but superior strenght and senses compared to humans. P'traltis will be the love interest for the MC in book 2.
