Malerik-Ra is a member of the tribe of halianx known as the Sandpaw. Probably the most feared and respected of the three known tribes, the Sandpaw are a tribe that consists of powerful shamans, oracles, and healers. These halianx live near the coasts of Kudonta, and are one with the water and the sands. They are from a subspecies line known as Tropical Halianx, and are easily identified by their darker fur and their lack of a mane, a heavily identifying factor for the other two subspecies.
Malerik-Ra is one of the most powerful members of the Sandpaw, being a war-shaman, a powerful halianx that utilizes his gifts to interact with the world of the dead, and it is thought he can tap into this ungodly link to further his power in battle. While Mal may seem hard to approach, his silent nature is more a result of his shamanic upbringing, and he will happily hold conversations with those he trusts and has a deep acquaintance with. Most who do talk to him realize his words are wise and sometimes cold, but he has a good heart, more than willing to use his power to aid those who seek out his guidance.
Malerik-Ra is opposite to Gelemar - Where Gelemar is shy but warm, and likes to meet others despite his hurdles, Mal is confident but tends to come off as cold. And while he doesn’t actively seek others out as he tends to find comfort with his tribe and his studies, he will happily spend time with those who he particularly finds interesting company.
Another thing that makes the Sandpaws so powerful and feared by any non-halianx tribe of Kudanta is their deep connection and relationship with the large, powerful beasts called Titans. No one knows how this link developes between a Sandpaw and a Titan, but they almost share an emotional tether to each other. Mal is tethered to the powerful Titan bull, Deledun.

Malerik-Ra's conception is interesting. While I had the idea of Mal for over a decade, I never actually knew what he would look like.  SobakaSatany actually created this character as a tribal hare. He then noticed how close it looked to Gelemar and was super sweet to make some modifications to turn him into a Halianx and adopt him out to me. It was when I saw this powerful Halianx from Sobaka that I knew this would be the intimidating Malerik-Ra!
And I cannot thank you enough, Sobaka, for modifying this boy and adopting him to me!!! Thank you so much again, bud!!
