I've been attempting to create a color pencil style brush in GIMP. Basically, there was a cute Digimon fan comic called "Digi-Rugrats" that was colored with colored pencil and I've so wanted to emulate the style. The issue of course, is that I now do all my pics exclusively in GIMP, no traditional art. While I have found a few tutorials on making pencil brushes, I still have not been able to successfully recreate the style used in the mentioned comic. Whether it's due to technical limitations or my own skills, it could be both.


So do you have any advice on how to make good color pencil brushes in GIMP, as well as how to use them properly? I'd share the comic for reference, but I don't know if the artist would be comfortable with it.
