March 23 is the end of Coyote Awareness week, as well as Coyote awareness day. That being said, the poor canids get a really bad rep (Fuck you mark Twain), as it is a creature that rarely ever harms people, is needed in the environment, and is constantly a victim of misplaced violence. Regardless, they are a resilient creature, managing to breed faster than they can be killed, and doing so proportionately to how often they are hunted. They have rarely killed people, with like 2 cases ever, and still are seen as violent menaces. Regardless, they are a great pest control, and remain crucial to the US, as without them, we'd be overrun with vermin (having this issue in my neighborhood, too many rabbits).

Last CAW I decided to torture Cass, but this time, he gets to just live. Enjoying a view with his kids, not having to worry about the daily struggles of life. A peace, even if brief, is welcome. Appreciate your local canids.
