With the latest episode of The Amazing Digital Circus recently releasing, I decided to channel my obsession with it into a piece of art. Taking a break from the usual stuff I draw, and shake things up. This was incredibly fun to draw though, especially when it got to the lighting. I love drawing piece that let me get creative with how I tackle lighting.
Also, I strongly relate to Caine as a character. Ironically, despite being an AI, his story arc reflects a lot of struggles that many artists, myself included. He struggles with others not seeing his vision for his creations, or at least being appreciated for his creations. That rejection and disdain he was met with built up into extreme narcissism, and making him taking out his anger on the group in the most aggressive way possible.
While Caine is obviously no saint (before nor after his transformation into a villain), I can't help but sympathize with him. As someone who dreams of doing something big with their art, and struggling to find an audience who resonates with my creations, this a very understandable struggle. Obviously doesn't justify his actions, but you understand where he comes from. Caine is a great example of a sympathetic villain done right, you get why he's become his way, but you also don't justify his actions, especially when they get more and more extreme as the episode goes on.
