I decided to do a photo test in low light using the new 26 Ultra. I thought that it came out pretty well. I think I know most of the deer in the photo, so I will name them from left to right. The first one is Cookie-Doe who will be 10 come this summer. The dark doe next to her is Chip. The only way I can tell her apart from the other three chocolates does her age is that white patch of fur on her front white leg. She is also laying right next to her mother Cookie-Doe. The young white/tan doe behind her is Rocky, who got her name because when I was looking for fawns last year, I almost stepped on her thinking that she was a light color rock. The natural color doe laying left to the doe licking her tail is Rocky’s mom, Star. I can tell her apart from the other does her color from both of her ear tips being bitten off. Star was a struggle to keep living during her fawn days, and other deer in the herd used to pick on her. She has proven to be a good mother from her very first fawn who is also in the photo. Every one of her fawns have been white/tan colored. The deer that is right behind the doe licking her tail is Princess who is a Fawn from Na’Toff. At first I couldn’t place her, but her butt gives her away that she is an Arib color deer. At this time she is the only Arib color deer that we have. The goofball licking her tail is Buckwheat. I cheated and saw her ear in a different photo which looks like she has ripped off an ear tag that she has never had. I have no clue on how that happened. The chocolate young doe looking straight at the camera and the dark one in the far back could be either Dale, Coco, or Puff. At this point I can’t tell them three apart. The doe right in front of the hay bale is Storm who looks a lot older than she really is. She was also are first fallow rescue. Her fawns are a complete challenge because of her mastitis. Her latest fawn who isn’t in the photo is Snowy. The doe laying to the right of Storm is Aunty Big Butt. She is also one of two who are in their 20s and it shows. The big goober in the back is Outlaw. His mother is Star, and his grandmother is Stormy.
