I'm quite positive. This was about ohhh five years ago, it was definitely the Vaio (a lot of hardware malfunctions and whatnot, nothing virus-y related). I turned into a Mac person and have been really happy ever since, lol.
I had to send my Vaio back six times for various issues. :( Norton was always successful for me, but then again after norton I stuck with Windows Defender Beta and that worked really well too.

To fully uninstall Norton use their Norton Removal Tool.
