I'd like to share a few things I'm worried about. Kiara is my cat, whom I love very much. She's the oldest of my four cats. She's about 13 or 14 years old, and that's one of the reasons I'm so worried about her health. Sometimes I have terrible, disturbing dreams with scary scenes. Right now, her toe on her back paw is very swollen and hurts a lot. It looks really scary, and the red inflammation has grown quickly, in just one day. The vet didn't understand what it was, but she suggested several likely options, so now we're treating the paw and applying ointments, but if nothing changes in 2-3 days or gets worse, we need to get an x-ray. Why didn't they do it right away? Because it's highly unlikely that it's a fracture. She walks very well and doesn't limp, she actively scratches that paw, and the only pain is on top of the toe, where the inflammation is. But that's not all... She has problems with her teeth and gums. I don't know why, and neither does the vet. The dentist is coming next month, and we'll go back for another checkup to find out if some teeth need to be removed. She also has inflammation in her mouth - on her cheeks, but it sometimes goes away and sometimes comes back, as if she's biting her cheeks. We've been dealing with her mouth for a while now, applying ointments, spraying, and treating it, but it didn't help; the inflammation still keeps coming back. There are a couple of other problems, but they're minor. I'm really worried about her; I don't know how I'll sleep knowing she's wearing a collar. She already fell off the couch about 15 minutes ago because she stuck her paw inside because the collar was loose. We tightened it up, but I'm terrified of hurting her. I'm worried that she'll have trouble breathing. But despite the discomfort and the trip to the vet, she still cuddles and purrs. I think she really needs my support, so I try not to leave her side and work next to her.
