It just might be presentation and how you chose to depict him, but he seems physically bigger in his Rebirth form.
I assume, while he might have been more grounded in his old life the more theatric personality we know has always been there.

Oh it's not just presentation, he's literally bigger now. He took some... creative liberties when took over Orly's body and changed some small details he didn't like in his past self. But yeah, being reborn allowed him to show some sides of him that were always there, but that he hid under the veil of normalcy.
