Broken, Repaired, Beautiful
When you make ceramics, you have to accept the fact that you'll lose some pieces in the kiln. The kiln gods request their sacrifices. Sometimes, the happenstance makes it cool... This wiggle, meditating in full lotus, popped while bisque firing. She broke into dozens of pieces.
Did you know the kintsugi process, fixing broken pottery with gold laquer, began as a Zen story? (You can read it here: https://theartofzen.org/kintsugi-an.....-what-breaks/) So, in a way, the pieces all fell into place. "A slowflake never falls in the wrong place," after all. I used some Pebeo relief outliner in gold (and Krazy glue lol) to put her back together. Next she'll get some acrylic coats and maybe some paint, but either way, she's more beautiful for having been broken.
