I was hired by
neonr0se to make an artistic liberty gryphon with LEDs and I just finished the tail the other day. I call these things glowbirds for lack of a better term; this particular one is going to be long-crested eagle/leopard based and I went with a snow leopard-y kind of tail because I thought it would be cool to incorporate the LEDs in the spots.
Low-light photography is pretty tricky. For the unaware, the longer a camera is "looking" at something the more light it takes in so you can take pictures in the dark without nuking everything with a flash. For this one we let the camera expose for a few seconds so it's closer to what you'd see IRL (well, minus the supernova going on in the white parts-- apparently technology has yet to catch up with the human eye).
Can't wait for the mask to dry so I can fiddle with it some more :P
