Animate objects are an underrated character trope, indeed. That's why I imagined a world full of these.

Yeah indeed. I know there are the Brave little toasters, pixars cars and all but yeah it just feels like Animated objects get a bit of the backseat. and it's also wonderful seeing somewhat monstrous or scary looking ones be friendly and personable as ever. Do love that trope.

Just yea. really is interesting to think about. lotta designs work so well. and also love inanimates being brought to life as well.

Despite sometimes looking like monsters sometimes (influence from D&D mimics after all), all my living objects are at most incredibly shy creatures, utilizing their disguise ability to appear inanimate in front of humans.

This is a subject of a big creature collector / "monster tamer" story I'm slowly working on.

Ooooh I see. Just yeah. still that's quite a nice premise. Though would be nice seeing human(s) befriend them and all that. hee hee.
