Really! We will be best of friends. Or simply very good friends. I will help clean his scales and teeth and keep other critters - bugs or scavengers - from annoying him/her, and give it a place to sleep and..... And I will teach him how to play games, and *yabbers*
For some reason undead-esque dragons, having retained their individuality and memories/sanity or just primal and violent, have always fascinated me nearly as much as their still breathing counterparts.
I just don't have the courage to draw them as I can hardly draw a living dragon. D:

Have you tried picking up Sculptris or Blender? Both are free and have great scultping capabilities and would more than prove to be capable of creating such creatures with ease. Blender is more powerful and as more features but is notorious for its steep learning curve (Which has eased with version 2.5) and has a free-to-download sample chapter of their training DvD "Venom's Lab" and it just so happens to focus on sculpting in Blender!

I've been meaning to start studying Blender myself so I could do some stuff with it, but I've been so focused on mastering Vray that I haven't had the time.
Back on the subject of critter sculpting, there is also 3DCoat which is VERY easy to learn and use, focuses on sculpting, and has some great features. 300$ or so for commercial use and 100$ for personal. zBrush is used everywhere and has tons of training material, tons of features, but is around 500$. Then there is Mudbox which I think was 750$ but I don't know anything about it.
To top it off, if you're interested in creating a realistic three dimensional monstrosity that is both lovable and horrific, then I'd suggest Sculptris, Blender, or 3DCoat or a combination of the three. If you do happen to pick one of them up I'd be more than happy to learn alongside you. (I've been so lonely in my pursuit of 3D knowledge...)
