Sapphire Package Egg adoptable
This is an Omakase(Surprise me) egg adoptable where the client requested a pure hybrid leaning more toward a beast/monster than a human. They wanted a very muscular build, with small wings that can’t fly. The concept combines a mole, a bear, and an owl, including the owl’s feather tufts (I added that detail in the brown patch on the chest).
This one is a lab experiment. I chose the code C-03, inspired by “Calico,” since they have three colors.
I don’t usually work in this style, so I’m really happy someone asking me to design this character! This piece took quite a while because I'm not good at anatomy drawing I looked at a lot of references.
When I thought about making it feel like a mole standing on two legs, I wondered what would make it most recognizable as a mole. Probably the long claws but actually, real moles don’t have hands like this at all. Their hands are really interesting, they have five fingers, and they even have the special bone that help to digging calls falciform bone. But since this is a hybrid experiment, I mixed in owl features of the feet on hands since anything is possible when it’s a lab created creature. You could even imagine them surgically adding more animal traits.
I focused on making the hands bigger so they still look powerful and great for digging.
