Northstar was a commuter rail line that connected the Twin Cities to Big Lake in Minnesota, starting service in November of 2009. Due to low ridership (thanks to COVID) and high operating costs, Twin Cities Metro cut funding for Northstar in favor for cheaper express bus service along the line. The last trip run by Northstar was a return trip after the final Vikings game of the 2025-2026 football season.
