Birds are actually the only lineage of dinosaurs that survived the asteroid impact 66 million years ago. They are feathered theropod dinosaurs.
Every time I see non-avian dinosaur art like this I get sad because they are long gone.. I would do anything to be able to travel back in time and see them when they ruled Earth. What a different planet it must've been back then, completely alien to us, yet familiar.
Regardless, this is a very beautiful art piece! I really enjoy all the art you post Himmis!

The little mammal friends sharing their treats with a ''sharptooth'' warms my heart so sweet <3
I wish I had grown up seeing dinosaurs portrayed like this. Aside from the fact that this dino is cute and fluffy, their look and character is that of a normal animal with feelings and a heart and not purely ''nightmare killing machine''. Thanks to media like Jurassic Park and similar video games I have a fear of all things dinosaur that I still can't fully shake off as an adult.
