"Fangs We Bare"
Razor sharp, but soft to touch.
Smiling grins don't ask too much.
Only to be treated with kindness, praise, and respect.
In rows they line, like soldiers in formation.
Safe and awe-inspiring unless led into temptation.
They kindly display our love and warmth, but hold the power to harm all the same.
When faced with oppression, the fangs come out.
And when they close their victims will be sorry, no doubt.
But too often do the fangs come out, their masters riddled with pain and ridicule till they lash out.
The beasts we are protect each other, but that doesn't mean blood must drain.
No matter how good the thought might feel in the brain.
Love and compassion will push us through, if not... what else can we really do?
Reserve your fangs for when the time is right, for not every battle is worth the fight.
Protect one another day and night, but for as long as you can manage... do not bite. [END]
