More old art from 2015! This time I made a markings ref for Thirteen, my spooky halloween-loving son from Project LAYHR, a Gaia online adopt shop I had way back in the day!
Yes, he was grown in a lab and I am Not letting go of my sparkledog era circa 2004, though his design has definitely had an upgrade since then!
To be fair, he was only 'born' with the false bony skull covering and orange markings- the skeletal markings were actually an experiment in pigment expression on a cellular level in post-neonate subjects, it just so happens that the lab technician responsible for that particular experiment had originally wanted to be a tattoo artist, and this isn't the first time they've gotten creative. Thirteen likes it though! The skeletal 'wings' are a novoxic (energy) trait that manifested later, which is uncommon, and due to the higher than average mutable nature of Project LAYHR, and perhaps an interesting initial finding that suggests for the first time that novoxic traits can be influenced by environmental and psychological rather than just genetic factors.
Thirteen is like if you gave a theater student a taste for melodrama and an obsession with halloween. It's not quite his fault- when the nice techs around you are giving you a cute little ghost collar and telling you spooky stories and sneaking you candy corn or treating you like an uncanny momento mori, what else is one to do? His entire understanding of human culture- of any culture- came from within those walls. He is both sweet and morbid, unnerving and innocent, but he will gladly tell anyone about the pile of strange not-layhr bones he found in the distant yards of the R3 Protocol, and wax poetically on the nature of such a castle of strange bones, should anyone ask. Their faces looked like his.

AH that makes me so happy, and thank you for telling me! It honestly means a lot that you've been watching for so long, and that you remember me posting him- it definitely doesn't feel that long. Also I'm having fun getting to ramble a bit more with lore-text posting here, it's way easier than anywhere with a character limit so I'm glad it's enjoyed! (Your comments always mean a lot, thank you! ;u;)
