A henge is a ring-shaped bank and ditch that populate the UK as historic sites of interest from Neolithic times. Not all of them are marked by stone circles. Though it’s nowadays not considered a proper one (because its ditch is on the outside rather than inside), Stonehenge is the most famous example of this. Little Henge is loosely based on the stone circles and henge of Avebury, Wiltshire.

A fairy ring is a circular patch of mushrooms or a circular patch of grass that looks different to the rest of the landscape. They’re often associated with supernatural folklore, lke in Germany, they’re associated with where witches danced on Walpurgisnacht (Walpurgis Night).

In the computer game Runescape, fairy rings are teleportation devices, similar to this story.

But yeah, there you go. If you’re wondering what that magic circle is from, I made it up. Hence why it’s not drawn very well, lol.
