YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.... FISH!
so basically, since a lot of people have been liking my post relating to my mascot, Ica, I thought to myelf "hm.... I don't have any other emo/scene oc's.... I should make one"
this was just a lingering thought in my head until I was walking through the aisles of a London Drugs (omigorsh the most le epic scenecore place of all rofl) and I saw this like--Zhu Zhu pets aquarium toy and I was like "dude, Zhu Zhu pets is still a thing?" You hosers remember Zhu Zhu pets? Has anyone done a video essay on that? Who am I kidding.... I'm sure they brought it back to capitalize on Gen Z nostalgia, or something. Anyways, it was aquarium themed, which supports my argument because omigorsh guys is that FrUtIgEr AeRo??!1/?!/111/! ? and I decided to make an oc based on one of the toys. She doesn't have a name, and has no lore. The closest she has to lore is the fact she's holding a PSP with the camera accessory. She probably owns family guy: the friggin sweet collection on her psp so she can watch it while driving/j
idk if she takes place in the 2000s and owns tech of the time or maybe shes a Zillenial living that retro lifestyle, whose to say?
I briefly considered making this character an adoptable, but idk much about the market, or how to even setup payment for that so I'm not sure. You guys tell me, would you like this character to be sold as an adopt? Or do you want me to try fleshing her out? She's a blank slate with a cool design rn so she's entirely reliant on your headcanons. I am aware that I'll need to make for alt fashion oc's since that's the direction my brand is headed so there might be use out of keeping this as my oc.
most of my backgrounds consist of ibis paint stock assets but this one was a little different, this uses assets from the Frutiger Aero Archive which contains a bunch of assets to download. (As well as songs to download.... Not that I would know anything about that....)
whenever people ask for my advice on character design, I tell them my entire design philosophy "think toys". I mean, toys are truly something ele. In an age where people don't like paying for things, people are willing to fork over money just because they like a certain character design. Think back to the toys you grew up with, what about it resonated with you? Although I'm no longer in the Skylanders fandom anymore (a little embarrassed to say it was my special interest for so long, honestly( but the interviews are very important, they speak about the significance of how a character can speak to people, being able to find a shelf of these toys lined up and say "I want that one" and also, being able to identify what a character is and what theyre all about, in the case of toys to life, they need to communicate their moveset, get kids and players gears turning on how they would play in a videogame. If you, upon finding this art wondered to yourself "Hm, I wonder what this characters is like?" than I have succeeded, if you did not, than I have failed. (This was written on DA before I made an entire post on my "think toys" philosophy lol)
oh, and as for the Milk2Go in the corner, I was finishing the background and went "damn this shit built like Milk2Go Berry Burst" as in--the colours and graphic design of the background were similar to the discontinued flavour of Milk2Go. For those who don't know what Milk2Go is, it's a flavoured milk drink sold in Canada and I believe France? Think Milk but in fun flavours like vanilla, strawberry, and ba na na, they also had an orange flavour which was discontinued when I was a youngin, but it became an in-joke with me and my friends for a bit. If you think it would be gross, it actually tasted like creamsickles. I actually used to mix orange crush and milk together after it was discontinued, it tasted pretty good.
anyways leave me name sugguestions for this gal, or headcanons.

alright a little extra segment of this post, since I'm releasing it on FA I guess I could add some additional notes about this post! It did pretty well on that site, and someone actually had a really good name suggestion. "Marabyss"! So shoutouts to Arcadian123 for that. Anyways, due ot how much people liked that post of her I might do more stuff of her, since no one seemed interested in buying, and I have no idea what I'd even sell her for anyways.
