I'm hardly on SL, maybe one inna while but not on a regular schedule of any kind, due to other things, like Furry Muck, Minecraft, where I have my own little land that I made a house on, not much else, 'cause I just started it, but hope to make a life-sized me on there someday soon

That's a mod of the werewolf avatar, I was somehow able to make it bigger then any of my other avatars, mostly because it's not prim based

I do miss SL, but I just can't play it on my PC, it messes it up.

That's okay Kahn, I don't try to spend whole lot of time on SL, as not everyone I know is on there anyway, I just do like maybe an hour or so at a pop on SL as I get bored fast on there w/ no one to talk to or play with on there nowadays, well, except on Sat mornings, more folks seem to want to talk to me then & stuff, the rest of the week, not so much

The graphics in SL improve a lot over the years since I've last seen it.

A lot of it is due to SL moving away from Prims & towards Meshes, like most MODERN games, there are still prims to make "simple" things, but sculpties & meshes for more complex things like avatars, Prims are still good for houses & whatnot, just real poor for avatars IMOHO

Is the polygon count still the same to render these types of skins or do they require more more out of your hardware?

I donno, I put all these up & my comp didn't seem to slow down, granted my comp has 2 cores in it now so not sure if I can push the graphics too hard to have it struggle along anymore, I do know that if I go to a crowded area I couldn't bring all these up like this possibly

Granted, there's a lot more into it then processing power but I'm pretty sure my rig can handle it. It's two years old man. I also have two two cores in one die and not SPE which I am glad. I will look in more into SL and if I like it expect a macro husky, and this is a major 'if' right now.

You can also tweek your settings on SL to minimum if your comp can't deal w/ it, I did that a lot, don't really need alla bells & whatnot

Granted I don't have that problem NOW, but before I got my new comp, I turned SL's settings waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down to run it

Like water reflections & so forth ?

It's pretty too look at but I have my ps3 for that. I used to build PC rigs two years ago and some of the people well care for water reflection, shadows, sun glare and double AA+ by 2,4 etc, and just dump buckets of cash for it to look "life like." Like I said it's pretty cool to look at of you have the money and game for it can be fun.. for two years then you need an upgrade. I don't compete in PC tournaments anymore so I have no need for it. Also, some of the rigs can be very heavy to carry. IRL I'm a big guy so it's not that much of a stress on to carry heavy gaming rigs.

Keeping up w/ the tech curve is costly if onna tight budget tho'

by the way how did ya get them all to be on the screan at once?

Pulled them out of my inventory piece by piece & adjusted them same way took a few hours to set 'em up

I'm wondering if I make one from scratch if it'll be bigger w/ the way SL works now, as what's stopping it now is once the smallest prim hits a certain size it won't go any bigger & snaps back to it's original size, thus I have to start the enlarging process all over again =P

considering how much is needed to mod them to reach that size/scale you might be able to squeak by the rules. Usually they only allow those who make their own from scratch or do heavy modifications to their own avatars.

These are way modded, so I should be okay
