What happens if, like me, you're the backseat writer to your own brain? I'll have full-blown conversations in my head as to what to write and how, often from the characters themselves.

Me: "Let's see......I think I'll have him go into that abandoned building. Sure it's a little dangerous, especially with the hunters so close on his trail, but he'll find..."

Him: "STOP! I am not going into that abandoned building. Do you know how dangerous that is!? The hunters could be here any minute, going through that building will only slow me down. It doesn't matter what I find there, it won't help me if I'm dead."

Me: "But it's meant to.."

Him: "I said no."
