Though nearly one million horses were sent to fight in WWI, on about 60,000 ever returned home. The ones who survived were often auctioned off to butchers or simply left to die despite all they've been through. The horses fought for neither side; they were the true soldiers.

Anyways, just a very quick piece of fanart for the story/play "War Horse" since I don't feel like doing anything productive right now.
It's a really good book and the play looks amazing, [I'm going to see it sometime in November, got resceduled because of the hurricane] if you ever get the chance you really should go see it. The puppets alone are amazing. ^^
