Thank you! Unfortunately I was unable to safely determine the edibility of this fungus. I have reason to believe it is some kind of Lactarius, but I have yet to taste the yellow latex that bleeds from the gills when cut.

Thanks! I use the cheap acrylic paints in the craft isle of department stores and try to keep the clay itself smooth when I model it. The paint tends to magnify all those little imperfections. ^_^
