What do you get when an ordinarily rather placid and gentle brontosaurus - normally the sort to simply drift calmly through life without giving too much care or though to much of anything, let alone his own size - is suddenly motivated to aspire to something bigger? And what do you get when you pair that same brontosaurus up with two already-incensed females both driven to heights of hunger for size and power that the entire world and everything on and in it is increasingly little more than dust underneath their paws?
Well ,what you don’t get is the possibility of stopping anytime soon. Especially not when each growth spurt eggs the others on, when every moment of being outgrown only pumps egos and bodies bigger in turn; and especially not when everyone is growing so huge that they begin to grow into something more than dinosaur, more than mortal - something godly that not even the very universe can hold! Especially not when there’s even more of reality outside the universe to outgrow…
Here we go, the big finale! Emphasis on big - in more ways than one! Oh, sure, it might not be anywhere close to how big I’ve gone in other stories, or even really that long overall - but at least when taken as a whole with the prior parts, and considering my initial aim was ‘something about 5,000 words long so I can write a quick cooldown story and then move onto the next big thing’... Yeah. Still, as I said, I’m not dissatisfied at all - even if figuring out what I wanted for the ending took a bit, overall it was more or less smooth sailing all the way through, and just fun to write something that ticked off a bunch of boxes I wanted to cover again.

It was fairly easy, being a Brontosaurus.
More specifically, it was fairly easy being a Brontosaurus, when all of your needs - from food to water to wide open spaces to late-Jurassic-accurate scenery and greenery - were provided to you by funny little creatures called humans who built funny big things called parks (Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous and otherwise) which they filled with dinosaurs so that other humans could stand around looking at them, pointing at them, and generally giving them all of their attention. It was the sort of arrangement that some - doubtless certain kinds of predators - might have grown bored with, or decided that the amount of attention they were getting just wasn't enough and they needed more, but as far as Bruce was concerned, it was just about as close to paradise as was possible. It was something of a stereotype - among humans at least; not that Bruce knew this, as all dinosaurs knew that, despite how smart they were, humans were unable to talk like dinosaurs could - that herbivores were stupid, slow-moving, slow-thinking, placid things that would be content with just about anything.
And, for Bruce, at least some of that was true.
Perhaps the right phrase to describe him might have been easy-going - as Brontosauruses tended to, he spent most of his days wandering through the gargantuan enclosure (though to call it an 'enclosure' was a bit of an oxymoron with how wide and open it was), rubbing against bigger trees and munching on smaller ones, enjoying the sun on his back and the wind on his scales and generally enjoying just about anything a dinosaur was capable of enjoying. Perhaps, more than easy-going, content might have been the right word - he wanted for little and desired even less (though certainly appreciated a lot); and, overall, was happy to do the same thing day in and day out with the only variation being how much attention he might or might not get from the humans.
At least until one day in particular, which didn't really feel different from any other until a good ways in.
It was a fairly slow day, as some days tended to be - not in terms of the things Bruce did or said, but more in terms of how many humans had turned up to look at him and his enclosure - and they did the usual thing of walking alongside the walkway stuck to the outer side of the colossal wall that made sure he stayed where the humans wanted him to (which was fine with him, as it meant that all of his needs were provided for and none of the predatory species were able to bother him), the visitors holding their strange little rectangles and boxes as they made clicking sounds and flashes of light, which Bruce didn't quite understand but nevertheless knew that they seemed to get plenty of enjoyment from, especially when they were able to point them at him. Sometimes groups stood along the inner edge of the walkway, waited for him to come into view - click! - and then went about their day; other times they held their rectangles above themselves and made silly faces or gestures with their hands, or held their rectangles out on the edges of long extendable sticks. It was all rather peculiar, but it made them happy - and so Bruce was fine with it, even if he didn't understand the purpose of it. A handful of humans came up to the inner edge of the walkway, and they did the usual thing of waiting until he was good and close to fiddle with their rectangles - and kept on fiddling, as, on a whim, he drew close to try and get a better look at their rectangles to see what all of the fuss was about.
Click - click - flash! - and, as Bruce did his best to peer in close, the humans pawed at their rectangles, and he was astonished to see himself on them, in the background. It was like they'd taken a perfect snapshot of everything - and, he had to admit, he did look rather fetching and massive! "Oh, my!" he rumbled, finding himself grinning; normally about as boring and mellow as could be but certainly stirred to something resembling, as far as he went, a height of passion. "That is interesting! Hah, it is a pity that humans can't talk, because you do all seem to be so very smart in your own funny way! Here, let me move about so you can try that again! I find this side is my best one..."
More clicks, more flashes - the humans chattered and tittered among themselves more excitedly than ever, holding their rectangles at arms' length to get more of those strange, wonderful pictures of him. This time, though, he was even more astonished - instead of pictures, this time they moved - moving pictures... He didn't quite have a word for that, but it certainly was very interesting! Admittedly, the attention wasn't bad, either - Bruce was normally a little ambivalent about receiving the humans' attention, though certainly appreciative of it; but just this once, his appreciation seemed to have somehow kicked up a notch. There was a funny tingling feeling that seemed to almost creep up on him - funny, yet somehow pleasant! "Mmmh!" the Brontosaurus rumbled, shivering all over, "Th-thank you, little ones! This is- oh?"
The humans had stopped talking, all of a sudden, and for a moment Bruce wondered if he had said something wrong (not that humans could talk, or understand dinosaurs, of course - they weren't quite that smart). Not so, as it turned out - their rectangles were making funny blaring noises, and one and all they quickly fiddled with them, bringing up other moving pictures as Bruce did his best to peek as closely as possible, screwing one eye shut and getting the other as near to them as he could. It took a second or two for him to understand what he was seeing - but each of their funny rectangles was displaying the same moving-picture; of other dinosaurs - two, even! A Tyrannosaur and a raptor... But, gosh, they really were massive! And the Tyrannosaur even more massive than the raptor! So massive, in fact, that she towered up into and over the very clouds, which clustered, worried, about the lower reaches of her belly, the raptor sprawled submissively at her titanic paws, an entire park visibly overfilled by her size!
Gosh! Bruce thought to himself, blinking - he looked about himself briefly, before realising that it wasn't his park that was being swallowed up by the Tyrannosaur's sheer size. He certainly would have noticed if another dinosaur that big was anywhere near - so it had to be some other park!
Even more astonishingly - at least, more astonishingly than how the odd little rectangles worked in the first place - were the things the Tyrannosaur was saying and doing, Bruce able to hear her despite her being further away than he could guess or understand. "Mmm, I feel so big, so strong, so powerful... So... S-so... so much attention... MMMF..."
And, with that, the Tyrannosaur began to swell even larger, the colossal rumbling of her growth replicated in miniature as he gawped. Bigger and bigger the T. Rex grew, and for perhaps the first time in his life Bruce felt his heart begin to race. Initially, at first, he wondered if it was because of the idea of a predator becoming so massive and unstoppable - but then he realised, gosh, she does sound so lovely, even if she is a little smug! And what little I can see of her looks even more lovely, still! - his cheeks heated subtly, tailtip gently lashing and curling at the treetops he towered over. And then, Bruce realised further, with a blink-
Growing, and being that big, does seem to be rather fun!
He considered the idea for a few long moments. If he had been capable of it, he might have tapped at his chin - but he wasn't, and so he didn't. I do wonder how she's doing that, he thought to himself, head tilting quizzically from side to side. The gentle tingling he had felt as he was getting attention from the humans had swollen to a strange buzz, and he did wonder if that was the culprit - but he reconsidered, thinking harder than he ever had before.
Grow. Grow. How could I do that? Do I simply want to grow, and it happens?
The more Bruce thought about growing, the more he unintentionally laser-focused his thoughts in on that one idea - himself, growing. Himself, getting bigger. Bigger like the raptor, bigger like the Rex, swelling and pumping and towering over everything and everyone - not in a mean way of course, but in a fun way, an unlike-him adventurous way! Bruce concentrated, harder and harder, eyes screwing shut as he thought and rumbled, the idea of himself becoming more, becoming bigger, consuming his thoughts.
As it turned out, for Bruce at least, growing was surprisingly easy.
Maybe not quite as easy as breathing or munching on ferns and conifers - but almost as easy.
Something gave, all of a sudden - something, some nebulous tipping point or mental trigger he had never realised was there to begin with - and then a sensation of blissful heat flooded his entire body all at once, and with a huff and a gasp and a surprised bellow (something especially out of the ordinary for someone so mellow with no predators to speak of!), he was beginning to grow, just like the dinosaurs he had seen on the humans' funny rectangles.
Brontosauruses tended to be anywhere from fifteen to twenty-five feet tall at the shoulder - twenty-five to thirty feet tall at the head; and Bruce had always been right on average. Had always been - emphasis on had been, because now he was already forty feet tall at the head - fifty feet tall, sixty-five feet tall and still growing, even as he gasped again, eyes snapping open in shock, and groaned happily in surprise. “O-oh! M-m-my!” he rumbled, looking about himself quickly, finding his view of everything rising up into the air, his feet instinctively adjusting themselves wider apart and further back and forwards as his expansion send them sliding this way and that over the soft earth, everything else in the entire world - humans, trees, enclosure walls - lurching downwards as it all shrunk compared to him.
As he reached and then soared right on past a hundred feet in size, Bruce barely even noticed the humans who had been unwittingly feeding him so much attention and power stumbling back from one side of the enclosure wall to the other, letting out adorable little gasps and screams of shock and surprise as he tingled and lurched and swelled, bigger, bigger - a hundred and fifty feet, three hundred, five hundred; more and more size pouring in as he rapidly overshadowed not just the enclosure he had spent his entire life living in, but his own increasingly giant self from just moments before! The speed of it was blinding - a chorus of Dinosaurian rumbles and huffs and grunts pouring out over the entire park as his sides pumped in and out from his giddy panting, harmonising with the squealing of stretching scales as he briefly marvelled at how massive he had grown, thought about growing even larger - then tingled all-over, harder than ever, bursting to double his mighty 500-foot size - then again, and again! With a degree of speed that ought to have been terrifying - and, in fairness, probably was to everything that wasn't himself - Bruce rushed up past a full, entire mile in size, not even half a minute since he had started growing, his original self so small compared to his still-growing mass that he might have been able to wriggle into the gaps between two of his scales!
To all of those tiny humans down below - not to mention every single other dinosaur in the entire park, every single one of the gawping up at his 1.5- 2- 5 mile self as best they were able to - it must have seemed like an explosion, or an apocalypse, only scalier; at least before he simply swelled so colossal that he covered the entire park and blocked out any sight of the sky above, casting it and everyone in it into shadow! "Th-this," he huffed giddily, his previously placid self melted away in a tidal wave of excitement he never imagined he might be able to feel, every single cell in his body suffused with an overwhelming sense of giddiness and size and power and strength, "I-is amazing! M-mmf, that Tyrannosaur really was right! I feel so big, too! S-so strong, so powerful... O-oh, I can feel so much attention, just like she must have been!"
The tingling that prickled delightfully over every inch of Bruce's 15-mile body had swollen into a gigantic, soundless sort of roar - like pins and needles only blown up even bigger and flipped to be pleasurable instead of painful. Even as he roared up into the sky, taller and higher and bigger and better with every single passing instant - more size forcing itself into him with every breath, with every bulge in and out of his scaly sides as he huffed and snorted and giggled, his titanic feet carving harmless trenches into the entire landscape below, which had already grown so small that he could barely see it as anything else than a multicoloured carpet washed out by an atmospheric haze - he could just barely, barely feel that same sensation growing stronger than ever, the more he grew, like a self-feeding loop.
Things that Bruce didn't know were planes swerved to and fro as he filled more of the sky and planet alike with himself - passenger jets doing their best to come back the way they'd came, only to find themselves gently swept up and carried along by scales bigger than entire city blocks; jet fighters buzzing past and at him - just about everyone's military already being on high alert due to the raptor and Rex, and Bruce proving just as mighty and invulnerable as they, as bullets, bombs and rockets failed to even attract his notice, much less harm him!
50 miles - 80 - 170 - the bigger he bulged the more power and attention than ever Bruce accrued, the both of them feeding each other in a neverending cycle that only grew rapidly more and more potent, without even the possibility of slowing - let alone stopping! Like a vast, scaly balloon he inflated, spreading out over first the country and then the continent, tail shaking, long neck spasming, flumping down as his legs finally failed him; too much growy, happy pleasure coursing through him for him to remain standing! Unbeknownst to the giga-sized Bronto, an entire carrier group had done its best to assemble - or at least to begin to do so - intending to sail halfway across the world and confront the Raptor and Rex; instead finding itself rocked about like toy ducks in a bathtub as the vibrations of his impact (and, of course, the vibrations of his even further expansion) rippled out through the entire planet - at least, for a moment or two, before those ships found themselves swept up or harmlessly smothered by his growth, just like everyone else!
300 miles - 400 miles - 600 miles - 1,000 miles - despite the sheer, impossible strength of Bruce's growth, there was a sort of oddly gentle pace about it - he simply grew and grew, bigger and bigger, up and out and to both sides and front and back; but there was no humongous growsplosion or momentary bursting bigger - he simply spread out in all directions, the rate blindingly quick yet also somehow unhurried! As his head rose fully up out of the atmosphere, the continental Brontosaurus turned it this way and that, eyes widening as he marvelled, finally getting a sense of his own surroundings as his growth began to slow, the sudden excitement and desire to join along with something fun abating as he was distracted - first by the view of the planet below him, spreading out like a ball he was increasingly-awkwardly balanced atop; and then by the stars above and the blackness of space! 'Oh! Oh, my!' he thought to himself, blinking in pleasant shock; 'This really is amazing! I think I made the right decision by deciding to join in with those two, I wonder what it might be like to grow large enough to see what all of those little pinpricks of light are! In fact, I wonder what happened to those females-'
Bruce's question was answered almost as soon as it had occurred. Even as he ballooned and bulged to two thousand miles in size, then two and a half thousand, then three - his massive, tree-trunk legs beginning to exceed the very curvature of the globe, sticking off into space, his tail sweeping happily through the void, so long that if he was any larger it might have accidentally batted the moon out of orbit - a sound met his ears.
Well - two sounds, to be exact.
"This is what I deserve!" came a voice he hadn't heard before. "More power, more size, more strength, more-"
"More me?" another voice, as adorably tiny as the first, came - and Bruce's heart skipped a beat as he realised he was the Tyrannosaur he had heard on one of the humans' odd rectangles! Gosh, she had been huge - but now that her voice was so tiny, he must have exceeded even her! The thought made him tingle all over, a rosy blush tinging the Brontosaurus' cheeks, a sudden surge of happy pride pumping him even greater still, in slow motion - another feeling, like the earlier tingling from getting so much attention, made him quiver slightly, but Bruce didn't quite notice it, his attention elsewhere. He continued to listen as the other two dinosaurs bickered, almost finding himself laughing happily, giddily - g-gosh, everything felt so good! And he felt so powerful! So - m-mmm, so strong, that it almost made him want to bellow and huff and snort in total joy! For a moment, he looked about - and then, he found the other two dinosaurs.
"If nature says so, maybe you should listen-"
With a grin big enough to swallow countries, Bruce swung his muzzle around, almost finding himself cooing at how tiny the other two had become, compared to him! They were barely a quarter of how immense he had grown - was still growing; it had slowed but never stopped, not even for an instant! - and, as he did so, he saw that their attention was attracted to him in turn. He wriggled gently, the entire world shaking with a cacophony as big as he was. "Hee!" was all that the god-sized dinosaur could reasonably say, in that moment - at least before he shivered and sucked in a breath, doing his best to look good in front of such gorgeous females (even if they were predators, compared to him, a herbivore!).
"This really is good fun! Hello, girls! It looks like I got bigger than the both of you... The both of you put together, even! Hee!"

Hee!"
